DSM Legal Solicitors is based in Warrington, Cheshire and was founded in 2003 by Diane Massey, solicitor and managing director.

Diane is fortunate to be supported by a team of experts in their field who, like Diane, are dedicated to providing the very best service to clients.

Diane qualified as a solicitor in 1994 after having gained her law degree at John Moores University in Liverpool, after which she went on to complete her solicitors’ finals at the Chester College of Law.

Prior to setting up DSM Legal she was gained wide experience working in firms across Merseyside and Cheshire and was previously a lecturer in law and a member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Tribunal Panel.

Diane has extensive experience of advising clients on Conditional Fee Agreements (commonly referred to as ‘No Win No Fee Agreements’) and has done so since they effectively replaced Legal Aid in 1998.

No Win No Fee Agreements come in all shapes and sizes and can be a minefield for those not familiar with how they operate.

Unfortunately, at DSM Legal we have seen many examples of people who entered into No Win No Fee Agreements after being given inadequate costs information, leaving them heavily out of pocket. Not all Conditional Fee Agreements are the same and it is therefore very important to know what questions to ask.

At DSM Legal we take on all eligible negligence claims on No Win No Fee basis and will ensure that you understand exactly how we will deal with your case. We also take cases on a fixed fee basis, in which case we are happy to provide a quote.

Gaynor Beckett

Gaynor is a senior employment law solicitor renowned for her reliable expertise and commitment to attentively listening to our clients’ needs. She describes herself as an employment law generalist and, while she is well-versed in the dynamics of the Employment Tribunal in the first instance, she often seeks to prioritize the commercial resolution of disputes, striving to spare all parties the stress and financial strain of litigation when possible.

Colleagues and clients often refer to Gaynor as ‘a breath of fresh air,’ a solicitor with a healthy sense of humour and a transparent communication style. Her straightforward approach is always tempered with kindness and a genuine understanding of the emotional weight that workplace disputes can impose on everyone involved. She aims to provide legal advice with a blend of professional rigor and compassionate insight, aiming for an efficient and effective resolution of employee relations issues whenever possible.

Outside of work, Gaynor is passionate about triathlons. In 2023, she competed for the Great British Age Group (GBR) team at the World and European Championships in Madrid and Pontevedra. She has once again qualified for 2024 and will be heading to Malaga and Ibiza in her GBR kit later in the year.
