We have updated our privacy policy as part of preparing for the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) which comes into force on 25 May 2018 in the UK and the EU.

 

The data that we hold

GDPR applies to ‘personal data’ meaning any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified by reference to an identifier.

This definition provides for a wide range of personal identifiers to constitute personal data, including name, identification number, location data or online identifier.

For the purposes of fulfilling our contract with you we will hold and process some or all the following data:

Your name, address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, your employer’s details, vehicle registration number, insurance company details, medical records.  

We will not disclose any information you provide about yourself to any third parties unless we have to do so in the ordinary course of our commercial relationship with you, for example to a medical agency appointed by us to facilitate the obtaining of medical evidence to support your claim, to our approved medical experts, when liaising with insurers, with the Courts, Counsel, or other third parties as applicable to your case, e.g. police, Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, Motor Insurers Bureau and as required by law. 

We generally keep this information for a period of six years until your file is destroyed in accordance with Law Society recommendations.

 

Sharing

We do not share your information with anybody except for the purpose of providing our services to you.
